Treat Bag for Fantabulous Cricut: Challenge #44-Neglected Cartridge

Good Evening Everyone!! Welcome to KMC.  Since I did not post anything yesterday, I'll have two posts for you.  This project is for "Fantabulous Cricut: Challenge #44-Neglected Cartridge".  In this challenge, you need to create a project with a Cricut cartridge that has been neglected for 6 or more months.  It is a little challenge for me because I am fairly new in the crafting work especially the Cricut's world.  I heard about Cricut from a friend at the end of 2009 but I did not own one until late April 2010 and I did not open the box until June of 2010.  Therefore, all my cartridge are 7.5 months or newer.  I did manage to find a cartridge that I have not use for 6 months.  This is the Hello Kitty Greeting Cricut cartridge.  With this cartridge, I decided to make a Hello Kitty Treat Bag.  I hope you will like it.

KMC's Recipe:
-  Size:  7"W x 8-1/2"H x 3"D
-  Cricut Cartridge:  Hello Kitty Greeting and Forever Young
-  Card Stock:  Target Posterboard (White), Recollection (Black, White, Red), and Core'dination (Pearl Gold)
-  Embellishment:  Michael's (Clear Rhinestone)
-  Glitter:  Joann Craft Essential-Fine (Red)

As you can tell this treat bag is pretty big.  This bag is cut in a 12"x24" posterboard.  The picture below is the comparison of how big the "Hello Kitty" bag is.  The small purse is cut in 3-3/4".  The actual size of the small purse is 3-1/8"W x 4-1/2"H x 1-1/2"D.  The "Hello Kitty" bag is perfect for little girl as Treat Bag.

Valentine Card for Crafting with Cristina: Challenge #15 - Color Challenge Black, White & Grey Only

Good Morning Everyone!!  How's everyone this morning?  Thanks for dropping by.  I made a card this morning for "Crafting with Cristina" challenge (Challenge #15: Color Challenge Black, White, and Grey Only).  As you can tell, the project of this challenge has to be black, white and grey but you call substitue grey with silver.   I think this will be a fun challenge.  Beside pink is my favorite color, my other favorite colors are black, white and grey.

I made another Valentine card for this challenge.  I used black and white in this Valentine card but I subsititue grey with silver.  When people think of Valentine card, the colors usually associate with the holiday are red, pink and white (sometime) but I choose to use black, white and silver for a Valentine card.  I think love is black and white, either you love a person or you don't.  Silver just give a tough of elegant to romance.  I hope you will like this card I made this morning.

Welcome to KMC!  Today, I made a card for "Peachy Keen Stamps: Sketch Challenge 43".  The requirement for this challenge is the "design has be new and the project has to incorporated elements from provided sketch".

Since Valentine and Chinese New Year are around the corner, I made a Valentine card with some Asian's influences such as the type of material and a Chinese character.  Like the couple card I made previously   (BDC#8 and SC#1), I used origami paper instead of design paper.  Again, the result turn out great!

Birthday Card for Fantabulous Cricut-Challenge Me Monday #43

Hi Everyone!! Welcome to KMC.  Today, I made a birthday card for the Fantabulous Cricut challenge, the "Challenge Me Monday #43".  The rule of this challenge is the project have to have "something sweet in the project" such as ice cream, candy, cake, etc. and it has to be cut with a Cricut machine.  Therefore, I decided to make a cupcake shape birthday day card.  It is cute and sweet. :)

BDC #9

KMC's Recipe:
- Size: 6"
- Cricut Cartridge:  Sweet Treats
- Card Stock:  Recollection (Black, Brown, Light Brown, Red, and Peach)
- Embossing:  Cuttlebug Folders
- Ribbon: Celebrate It-3/8" Wide (Ivory)
- Embellishment:  Clear Rhinestone (From Michael's $1 Bin)
- Glitter:  JoAnn Craft Essential-Fine Glitter (Pastel Party-Pink)

I stamped the sentiment ""You're so...Sweet"" on the ribbon instead of the card stock.  The result is pretty good.  I used pigment ink instead of dye ink, the image comes out better.  If you plan on doing the same thing (stamp sentiment on ribbon) with your project, try to do a test run first (stamp on two scrap ribbon first with both type of ink).

Wish me luck (crossing fingers).  Also, please leave me a comment.

Get Well Soon Card

Me again!  Here is a Get Well Soon card I made a few weeks ago.  Since it is the flu season, I think this card will be handy.  I was thinking of my friend, Nikie, when I made this card.  It is not because she gets sick a lots.  Nikie is pretty healthy.  I remember that she said at one time she likes dragonfly.   Therefore, I use dragonfly in this card.  I think dragonfly is so dynamic and full of energy, no sickness and illness can stop it.  Dragonfly is unstoppable.  I think dragonfly and "Get Well Soon" phrase go well together.  Don't you think?

Valentine Cards for My Creative Time Imagine Nation Monday Challenge-"Sweet"/ "Valentine"

Hi again!  Since Valentine Day is around the corner, I made couple more Valentine cards beside VC#1 and VC#2.  I use this card (VC #3 and VC #4) to enter Emma with "My Creative Time: Imagine Nation Monday Challenge".  To enter the challenge, you "must use Imagine but you don't have Imagine, you can still participate".

I hope you will like this one.  There is no inspiration in this card.  I just made it because I want to use more of the Love Struck Cricut cartridge.  The cuts of this cartridge are so delicate and intricate.  Of course, it is very beautiful.

-  Cricut Cartridge:  Love Struck
-  Style:  Joy Fold Card
-  Card Stock:  Recollection (Black, Red, and White)
-  Embossing:  Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
-  Ribbon:  Celebrate It-3/8" Wide (Black)

Sympathy Card

Hola!! Welcome back to KMC.  How is everyone this morning?  I'm am so glad that I have 2 FOLLOWERS!  Yippee.  You guys (my followers: "krechi" and "ScrappinAnn") just make my day.

Today, there will not be as many postings as yesterday.  Yesterday, I was posting happy.  Heheh. :)

Here is a Sympathy card that I made over the weekend.  I hope you will like this card.  I was playing around with origami paper over the weekend.  In this card and BDC #8, I was using origami paper instead of pattern paper.  The result of these cards look GREAT!  The print and color of the origami are so beautiful.  If you are tired of using pattern paper, try to utilitize origami paper in your project but they are not cheap.  Some of the origami paper (6"X6") is 8 for $6.99 at my local stores.

SC #1

KMC's Recipe:
-  Size:  A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2")
-  Cricut Cartridge:  Pagoda
-  Card Stock:  Recollection (Light Purple and White), Core'dination (Tan Pearl)
-  Paper:  Craft Chiyogami
-  Ribbon:  Offray Ribbon-3/8" Wide (White)
-  Embellishment:  I-Rock

If you are planning on using origami paper in your project, you have to be careful on how you handle the paper.  The paper is so thin,  it tears very easily.  I suggest you might have a heavier backing to support it.

Holiday Treats

I know there are lots of post in one single day.  Seriously, thanks for checking my blog.  Here are some Holiday Treats that I made last year for Halloween and Christmas of 2010.

HT #1

I made this Halloween Treat bags for my son's classmates for Halloween 2010.  I made 25 treats and bring it to his class.  He was very happy about it.  What I put in each treat bag were a pencil, Play Dough, cards games, and some candies (it is not Halloween if there is not candy).  I use Mini Monsters and the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridges.

HT #2

I made this Halloween Treats bags for my daughter's friends at her daycare for Halloween 2010.  I made 35 treats and bring it to her daycare.  The nurses at my daughter's daycare told me all the kiddo at the daycare love it.  I am so happy to hear that.  I can't believe a little treat can brighten the day for the kiddo.
I used Plantin Schoolbook and Hello Kitty Cricut cartridges.  What I putted in treat bag were candies and Play Dough.

HT #3

After the Halloween Treats, my son wants me to make Christmas Treats for his class.  Therefore, I made 25 Christmas Treats for his class and 35 for my daughter's daycare.  I made a total of 60 Christmas Treats bag for Christmas 2010.  I used Joys of the Season and Tags, Boxes, Bags & More Cricut cartridge.  I put a bag of hot coco powder, candy cane, cookie, and some candies in each treat bag.

HT #4

I made 40 Christmas Treat bags for my husband's co-workers.  My husband and I used to work at the same office and the same department.  I am no longer working in the office anymore.  Like many people in this economic tough time, I got laid off.  My new job is better, I am a full-time mom to my children.  Hehehe.  When I was still working in the office, I would like to bring treats to the people in my department for any holidays (Christmas, Valentine, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc).  Yes, I may not working in the office anymore but I still want to bring some treats to the people in the office.  We may not be co-worker but we can still be friend.  Beside, it is Christmas.  It is time to share some joy.  MERRY CHRISTMAS, HC!!  I used Trim the Tree and Tags, Boxes, Bags & More Cricut cartridge.

Ta Ta for now but "Stay Tune".

Baby Shower Cards / Welcome Baby Cards

If you are not tired of my blog yet.  Hehehe.  Here are some of the Baby Shower cards or Welcome Baby cards.

BSC #1

BSC #2

Basically, these are the same cards.  The only difference is the color of the "Rock A Bye Baby" phrase.  Personally, I think the brown color works better.  It makes the phrase pop and help defines the meaning of the card.

Mother's Day and Father's Day Card

Welcome!  Here are the Mother's Day and Father's Day cards that I made last year.

FDC #1

I made this Father's Day card for my husband last year, 2010.  The inspiration comes from my husband.  He loves golf so I decided to go with a golf theme.  My son was helping me at the same time. He wants to be part of it so he can wish his father a happy Father's Day.  As you probably will know, nothing will goes perfect if you have a 4-1/2 years old helper.  When I stamped the sentiment (inside the card) with Versa Mark Ink (clear color), my little helper can't stop talks to me and asked so many questions at the same time so I stamped the sentiment upside down.  I did not notice the oops until I heat emboss the sentiment (too late).  There were some imperfections but it was fill with lots of love.  Hehehe.  HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, honey!!

MDC #1

I was just bored when I made this Mother's Day card last year, 2010.  My husband was golfing with his buddies and I just got this new Mother's Day 2010 Cricut cartridge.  If I'm not occupied with anything, I would like to spend time in my little craft area.  This is the product of the day.  I made this card after I made the Father's Day card.

Invitation Cards

Hi!  Thanks for checking in.  These are the invitation cards that I made for my son's and daughter's birthday.  There were no Cuttlebug or Cricut influence.  All done by punches and scissor.

IC #1

I made this invitation card for my son's second birthday in 2007.  The inspiration of this card comes from my son (of course, he is the birthday boy after all).  My son loves Disney characters especially Mickey Mouse.  This is for him.

IC #2

I made this invitation card for my daughter's first birthday in 2009.  As you can see, there are butterflies and you know why,  if you read my previous post.

I made these invitation cards before I started to use e-vite as invitation to party.   One of these day, I will go back to making invitation card instead of e-vite.  I think it is more personal and meaningful.  Don't you think?

Ta Ta for now.  "Stay tune".

Thank You Cards

I'm BACK!! I'll make it short and stop BLA BLA BLA.  I'll go straight to the chase.  These are the "Thank You" cards that I made in the past beside the one that sent to the troop.

TYC #11

TYC #12

TYC #13

TYC #14

TYC #15

You probably noticed that TYC #12 and TYC #14.  They pretty much are the same cards.  The designer paper that I used in TYC #12 was out and I don't know where I can get more.  There I have to use a pattern that is closest to it in my collection (I don't have that much paper at the time).  I think the design paper for TYC #14 works better.  It makes the card and the flower pop.

"That's All Folk"!!  Ta Ta for now.  Stay Tune.

Thanks for dropping by.
